Jake started dancing when he was 3/4 years old. At that time he was very inspired by James Brown, the Jackson Five and later on Michael Jackson, therefore his dancing was influenced by James Brown at the end of the 60’s and the 70’s and later on from 1978 also by the Jackson Five and Michael Jackson!
Jake performed all over Europe with his legendaric dance crew the "Magical Band" and when they decided to split, Jake decided to make from his passion dancing his livelihood. So he went to practise even more until he became one of European best dancer.
From there on Jake decided to start his own dance school in the late 90’s / beginning of year 2000.
At that time he was the first and only Hip Hop (Streetdance) school in Amsterdam called Jake's Dance Factory.
The goal of Jake’s Dance Factory is to strive to turn dancers with a drive into professional dancers and educate choreographers, who can rank themselves among the best in the industry.
Jake’s Dance Factory prepares dancers and choreographers for all aspects of the business, from camera training to accompanying artists on tour.
Jake has worked with Dutch artists in the Netherlands, like: Replay, Ruth Jacott, Edsilia, and Dignity, as well as international superstars like Keith Sweat, Michael Speaks, Christian from "Roc A Fella" Jay Z, Record Company ,Cirque du Soleil to name only a few.
Today, Jake's Dance Factory counts over 1.000 students.
All Jake's Dance Factory professionals work in the dance industry and with help from my best friend U.S. choreographer Marty Kudelka (Janet Jackson, Pink, Justin Timberlake and Mariah Carey) -Eddy Morales (Janet Jackson, Pink, Justin Timberlake, Joe, Mariah Carey, Foxy Brown and more) and Lil’ Phil, his dancers got a chance to work for international superstars, like: Mariah Carey, Cassie, Ryan Leslie.
